The  Arc  of  Minnesota Foundation

Connecting our past to the future

Throughout the past fifty years The Arc of Minnesota has led the way in bringing about changes in the way Minnesotans view and treat persons with developmental disabilities and their families. Today, they have access to services and opportunities that were unimaginable fifty years ago, due to The Arc of Minnesota's efforts.

The Arc of Minnesota Foundation is designed as a resource for supporters, while ensuring that The Arc of Minnesota and its chapters will provide essential services to future families who have children or adults with developmental disabilities.

Benefits for supporters

Supporters can expect to benefit in a number of ways if they wish to make a gift to The Arc of Minnesota Foundation or any Arc chapter. These include:

  • Fulfilling personal philanthropic goals;
  • Providing income for yourself or beneficiaries;
  • Creating permanent memorials for loved ones;
  • Reducing income and estate taxes;
  • Increasing discretionary income;
  • Ensuring that loved ones have funds to meet their future needs.

Planned gifts provide lots of opportunities

Over the years, supporters have found planned gifts to be an excellent method of supporting Arc while minimizing their federal and state taxes. Doing so increases the possibilities for effective distribution of assets. Examples of planned gifts include:

  • Cash - the most simple, direct way to make a planned gift;
  • Bequests - anything one owns at the time of death passed on to Arc through a last will and testament;
  • Securities - appreciated stocks and bonds provide important tax advantages to you;
  • Real Estate - homes, property, businesses or farms;
  • Life insurance - by naming The Arc of Minnesota as a beneficiary, you are able to make a large gift for a small annual premium.

Supporters may designate gifts for a certain activity or to an Endowment Fund. Gifts to the Endowment Fund are invested with the interest earned being used to support The Arc of Minnesota's services. Supporters may also make an undesignated gift, thus allowing the Board of Directors of the Foundation or The Arc of Minnesota to determine how it should be used.

Betty Hubbard Heritage Society

Supporters may also be eligible to join the Betty Hubbard Heritage Society.
