There are a number of excellent resources available to consumers and families on housing options and services. The resources identified below have been selected as a place to start to gather information so that an informed decision can be made when considering the various options available.
HOUSING SPECIFIC RESOURCES:Roommates Matching Service LaunchedMinnesotans with disabilities, their family members, and others in the disability field can use a new online service to find others with disabilities who seek a housing solution. The service, called Roommates, is being provided through TheArcLink Incorporated, with funding from DHS along with other supports through DHS and The Arc of Minnesota.Roommates matches a person with disabilities with other people with disabilities who are either:

HousingLink would like to see that "everyone has the information needed to obtain and keep safe, affordable housing."Openings at Residential Sites in Several MN CountiesSponsored by Metro Crisis Coordination Program (MCCP) and the Association for Residential Resources in MN (ARRM), this Web site can be used by residential providers to list and describe openings they have at their facilities. Consumers and their representatives can go to this site to search for placements that offer supports for which they are looking.The ArcLink Provider SearchProvided through TheArcLink Incorporated, this tool allows people who are searching for services for individuals with developmental disability to search:
GENERAL RESOURCES:Disability Linkage Line(TM)Disability Linkage Line(TM) is a free, statewide, information, referral and assistance service to help people with disabilities, chronic illnesses and their representatives connect to community services.Those seeking help can reach Disability Linkage Line(TM) by calling 1-866-333-2466 during regular business hours. Disability Linkage Line Resource Specialists will provide one-to-one assistance to help people learn about their options and connect with the supports and services they chose. There is no wrong call to Disability Linkage Line(TM). Common requests include information and referrals on disability benefits programs, home modifications, assistive technology, personal assistance services, transition services, accessible housing, employment, social activities and disability rights. Minnesota Department of Human Services Web Site -- Disability ServicesThe Minnesota Department of Human Services Disability Services Division manages publicly funded programs that support people with a variety of disabilities, including developmental disabilities, chronic medical conditions, acquired or traumatic brain injuries and physical disabilities. The Disability Services Division of the Minnesota Department of Human Services recognizes the importance of helping people live where they choose, with appropriate services that assure their health and safety.MinnesotaHelp.infoThe MinnesotaHelp.Info resource database that contains information on the community services individuals and communities need to sustain and improve their daily lives--health care and childcare, job training, education and recreation, retirement, disability and social service information. This directory contains information on nonprofit and public health and human service programs and some for-profit programs, such as housing.Quality MallThe Quality Mall Web site provides information about person-centered supports for people with disabilities. This is not a retailer or vendor of products or services but uses the theme of a shopping mall to help connect visitors to the best products and services available. Each of the Mall stores has departments you can look through to learn about positive practices that help people with developmental disabilities live, work, participate in our communities and improve the quality of their supports.
