Betty Hubbard, one of The Arc's greatest leaders, gave generously to The Arc of Minnesota both during her lifetime and far beyond it. Betty was instrumental in the passage of nearly every critical special education law since the mid-1950's, assuring service to children regardless of the severity of their disability. She has often been called "the mother of Special Education." Betty was also a founding member of the The Arc of Minnesota Foundation. She wanted to assure that people who had developmental disabilities and their families would always have an Arc chapter to turn to, when they needed support and advocacy services. In her honor, The Arc of Minnesota has created the Betty Hubbard Heritage Society. Membership in the Betty Hubbard Heritage Society recognizes supporters of The Arc who make a qualifying planned gift to the The Arc of Minnesota Foundation, The Arc of Minnesota or any affiliated local or regional chapter. For more information or to set up a confidential meeting, call The Arc of Minnesota's main office at 1-800-582-5256 or 651-523-0823 or email us at mail@arcmn.org |
